As breast cancer awareness month comes to end, we encourage you to continue to take an active role in fight against breast cancer! 

On April 29th, 2012, Komen Mid-Michigan will celebrate its 10th Anniversary Race for the Cure!  We hope that you will join us as we celebrate 10 years of making an impact in our communities.  We are excited to announce that registration for our 2012 10th Anniversary Race is now open!  The theme for this year's Race is "Less Talk. More Action!"  We encourage you to take action and register today! 

Why We Race

With your help the Komen Mid-Michigan Affiliate has invested over $3 million in local breast health screening, education and survivorship programs.  Together, we are truly making a difference in the lives of Michigan women and families.  One of these women, Shelley Tanner, asked that we share the following message.

“Thank you to the Race for the Cure sponsors, donors and participants who financially support the work of the Susan G. Komen Mid-Michigan Affiliate.  Without health insurance for the past five years, getting an annual mammogram was not financially possible.  Because of your generosity and compassion, I was able to receive a free mammogram.  While the mammogram did find that I had breast cancer, I am fortunate and happy to say that it was a very early stage.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart!”

Every Friday for 10 weeks beginning Dec. 16^th, all registered participants will be entered into a drawing to win a $25 gift card courtesy of Playmakers.  The earlier you register the more chances you have to win.  Register today and you will be entered in all 10 drawings!

Fundraising – Win a pair of New Balance Shoes!

Each Friday for 10 weeks leading up to Race day, Playmakers will be giving away a pair of New Balance shoes!  Beginning Feb. 24^th, all Race participants who have raised $100 or more will be entered into a drawing to win New Balance shoes. 

For each additional $100 you will earn an additional entry in the weekly drawing.  The earlier you begin fundraising and the more dollars you raise, the more chances you will have to win!  For example, if you raise $300 before Feb. 24^th you will have earned 3 entries into the week 1 drawing – and your 3 entries will remain in the drawing for all 10 weeks!  You can also continue to earn additional entries for every additional $100 raised.
